This one is obvious. In 2005, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen landed in Washington Square Park and walked the hallowed halls of our prestigious university for a solid two semesters before leaving. Dylan and Cole Sprouse are the latest “celebritweens” (and the second famous pair of twins) to enroll at NYU. In other news, the twins will be starring in an upcoming reality series called The Suite Life…Dorm Suite That Is!. (See what I did there?)

Mean Irene is the new Snowpocalypse

I know what you’re thinking, and YES, as a matter of fact, I do have to talk about Hurricane Irene. NYU is famous for remaining unshaken (earthquake pun!) and open during catacalysmic weather events. Last year, we were blessed with one merciful snow day, thanks to that winter’s abnormally heavy snowfall (and we took advantage of it, too). This year, Irene wreaked havoc on all of our moving-in schedules, again proving that NYU is not immune to Mother Nature. Silly Mother Nature. Doesn’t she know how big our endowment is?

Netflix is the new Soviet Union

If you are a Netflix watcher, you are a friend of mine, and friend, I feel your pain. Netflix has jacked up its prices, limited our streaming options, and taken a lot of our precious Instant Watch content away. Not only that, but some contract they have with Starz is ending in February, so expect even more (awesome) movies to be removed from the site alltogether. What are us procrastinating college students to do? Hold each other. Hold each other close.
